ORANGE COUNTY, CA. -- (National Distribution) April 7th, 2008.

O'Connell Racing (OConnellRacing.com), a southern California based Grand-Am Rolex Series and NASCAR road racing team announced today that the team has entered the Rolex Series GT race and the NASCAR Nationwide series races south of the border in the Mexico City 250 at the famed Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez.  The team will run with drivers Kevin O'Connell and Kevin Roush in the Rolex Series race in the General Environmental Mgmt/Taleo Grill Porsche 997 in conjunction with the Daytona Prototypes on Saturday, and will run Sunday in the Nationwide series race with driver Kevin O'Connell.  Kevin Roush will move to spotter for the event.

Kevin O'Connell commented, " We are preparing for this race just like the Rolex 24 Hour.  It has taken that much effort. What is arguably a first is having our entire Rolex team; drivers and crew, switch series to Sunday's NASCAR race after running Saturday in Rolex.  The same guys making pit stops happen in the Rolex event will do the same in Nationwide.  We have gained tangible experience in Rolex and these guys have knocked off pit stops for 24 hours straight with no sleep, I know they can do this."

California based Rolex Series crew members Barry O'Brien, Roy Montgomery, Rick Toth, Eddie Bernabeo and Jeff Arnett as well as Roush teammates Kerry Caldwell and Steve Parker will be joined by Houstonians Ronnie Norwood and Rusty Montgomery.  Technical Director Roy Montgomery stated, "Rolex races give us reasonable time due to fuel flow rates and driver changes to execute our pit stops where Nationwide pit stops occur in about one fourth the time and are much more co-ordinated. Certain members of the team will be switched around such as the front tire changer, tire carrier and jackman from our Rolex format.  Our primary Rolex fueler will be the same with the addition of a catch-can-man.  We have to knock these stops down to less than 18 seconds from 55 seconds."
